With encouragement from family and friends, the Fat Redneck began in 2008. Starting with a small smoker and catering to small groups, we provided competition quality BBQ. Since we have grown to be able to handle 400 lbs of meat during a cook. While catering BBQ for different groups and neighborhood block parties we began to develop a following.
Around 2009, we began adding some signature items to our menu. These included our special "Fat Redneck Pulled Pork Egg Rolls" as well as our signature sauce, which is simple called "That Yellow Sauce". Customers are still finding new ways to use this sauce.
In 2010, we started the Fat Redneck BBQ Competition Team. During our first contest in Stone Mountain, Georgia we were able to place 1st with our Fat Redneck Stew. Some people call it brunswick stew, but we do it redneck style with lots of meat. We currently compete in KCBS, FBA and GBA sanctioned contest thru out the state of Georgia and Florida.
During 2014 we discontinued our catering operations and focused on our competition team. The same year we were able to get our signature sauce professional bottled and ready for sale on store shelves. "That Yellow Sauce" was named Grand Champion of the 2014 Saucekers BBQ Sauce Competition out of 105 sauces. We were happy.
We continue compete in BBQ contest in backyard and pro categories as well as sell sauce. Recently we have decided to turn Pro and only compete in Professional Contest.
